Hawthorn grows and bears fruit for up to 400 years. Flowering lasts about three weeks and just falls at the end of return frosts.

Quite large fruits (up to 2 centimeters in diameter) ripen in September. Their taste is pleasant, fresh-sourish.

Hawthorn fruits retain their beneficial properties when frozen and stored for a long time.

Hawthorn berries are added to jams, tinctures, jelly, compotes. Hawthorn flowers and leaves are also added to vitamin teas.
